Frequently asked questions
Not exactly, we are a registered Not for Profit - Community Interest Company. Our accounts are compiled in exactly the same way as a charity, the only thing we are unable to do is claim Gift Aid.
We do have an option for larger donors, businesses and corporations to be able to donate to our rescue through a Charity support organisation and claim it as a tax deductible expense however. They can also claim Gift Aid through this option and forward that to us if they wish. Please message us to enquire further if this is of interest kikishope4@gmail.com
We were founded in 2014, although we were very tiny to begin with and then things escalated.
We are proud of the work we have done over the years and the many animals we have saved with the help of our wonderful supporters, many of whom have been with us from the start.
You can learn more about our origins here.
Sponsors are our lifeblood; we can’t do any of our valuable work without the committed support of monthly sponsors and donors! And as a bonus for you, if the animal has not been sponsored before, you will get the honour of naming them!
It’s an easy process to become a sponsor for an animal, it can be from anything from £1 a month upwards! But typically, a full sponsorship for one of our dogs is £45, Cats is £30 and herbivores £25 a month to make sure we can feed, house and care for them.
Occasionally, some of our permanent residents might require sponsorship of more than £45 a month if they require special food or medication to be kept healthy.
If you would like to sponsor one of our animals. First you need to choose an animal to sponsor - Click here to see the animals who desperately need a sponsor!
Secondly, please email us to let us know who you want to sponsor, how much for and what you have named them (If they don’t already have a name)!
Then ideally, we would love it if you could set up as a standing order with your bank so you never have to think about it and our kind volunteers don’t have to chase it every month. Details can be found below.
For the reference, please put ‘SP [name of dog]’, for example ‘SP Mannie’

Sometimes, yes! We have rescued sheep, goats, pigs, hamsters, and even a hedgehog! These are not available for adoption, but if you would like to sponsor one of our herbivores, please click here.
Fostering is done by very special humans. It is often the difference between a dog lingering in kennels for months, sometimes years, or being given that chance for a loving family of their own once it's shown how good they are in a home setting.
It also helps the weaker, smaller, more vulnerable animals who don't do well in a kennel or shelter environment. We fully support our fosters and all we ask is that you feed your foster animal. We will take care of all other financial matters.
If you would like more information on how to help with fostering please contact us.
