A little more about Raquel...
Do you have room in your heart (and on your sofa) for a beautiful girl who truly deserves her chance?
Raquel was rescued as a tiny pup in 2021 along with her mum and brother after their owner abandoned them. She spent her early years growing up in kennels, always sweet and gentle, but never chosen. After a couple of years, tragedy struck when she was attacked by another dog. This is incredibly rare, as the handlers’ first priority is always safety, but sadly Raquel suffered severe injury to one of her hind legs and it had to be amputated.
Despite everything she’s been through, Raquel made a brilliant recovery, and tripod dogs go on to live completely normal, happy, active lives. She is living proof of that. What she needs now is a home that understands her needs and limitations, gives her a soft bed, and above all offers her the love she has been waiting for for so long.
Raquel is around six years old and small‑medium in size, with her mum being a Belgian Shepherd. She is a sweet, friendly and gentle girl who would thrive in a calm, quiet home. She gets on well with other dogs, but may be happiest as an only dog or living alongside a calm, respectful companion. Because of her past, she is likely to be shy and a little scared at first, but once she feels safe, her loving nature shines through.
Like all rescue dogs, she will need patience while she learns lead walking, house training and the rhythms of home life. With gentle guidance, most rescue dogs adapt quickly — and Raquel deserves the chance to learn what a real home feels like.
She is currently in the Balkans, ready to pack her bags and hop on the happy bus to the U.K. as soon as her forever family finds her.
