A little more about Lucilla...
Lucilla was part of a larger group of street dogs we tried to care for whenever we could. Heartbreakingly, she was the only one who survived. When we were finally able to rescue her, we discovered she was pregnant — and yet further tragedy struck when all her pups were lost to parvovirus.
Despite everything she has endured, Lucilla remains a sweet, gentle soul.
She is timid, and because of her traumatic past, she would thrive best in a quiet, calm home with no children — a space where she can take things at her own pace and learn that the world can be kind.
A home with another kind, steady, and calm dog would be ideal. A confident canine companion could help Lucilla make the transition from kennels to a warm, loving home life and show her that she is finally safe.
Lucilla has known far too much loss. Don’t you agree she deserves to feel the warmth of a real home and the love of a patient, understanding person of her own?
