A little more about Ella...

Ella urgently needs a foster or adopter, as she isn’t getting the attention she needs in her current home due to the other dogs. She may look like a soft, fluffy lap dog, but underneath that adorable exterior she is very much a terrier! If you’re looking for a little teddy bear to pick up and cuddle constantly, she isn’t the right match. She does enjoy affection, but only when she feels comfortable and on her own terms.

Ella can be unsure and easily overwhelmed, especially when people reach out to touch her suddenly or try to pick her up. This can frighten her and lead to growling or the potential for a nip. She needs someone patient who will allow her the time she needs to build trust and develop a positive, secure bond.

She requires a quiet home with no children (and no visiting children), and someone who is at home during the day. Ella gets upset when her special person leaves the house, but once she understands that it’s part of a routine, she becomes much calmer and copes well. This will need to be built up gently from the start.

Although Ella gets on well with other dogs, she would be happiest as the only dog in the home so that she can receive the focused attention she needs. She is fine meeting and interacting with dogs on walks. She is not particularly high energy, and regular access to an average‑sized garden is usually enough to meet her needs. Food is a great motivator for her and really helps her build positive associations.

Ella just needs the right home, patience, and someone willing to let her blossom at her own pace.
